4th Mission Not Impossible?

Abrams and Cruise reunite!

BY COLIN ENQUIST

TV Guide has reported that J.J. Abrams will indeed be producing the next Mission: Impossible film. Producing alongside him again will be the series' star, Tom Cruise. "I am incredibly honored that Tom has invited me back as a producer on Mission: Impossible 4" says Abrams, who directed Cruise in Mission: Impossible III. No word yet if Abrams is willing or wants to return as director. Abrams added "Tom and I have come up with a really cool idea we are pursuing".

Hopefully this film is along the lines of Mission: Impossible III, which was far superior to the John Woo take on the franchise with Mission: Impossible II. This also squashes most of the rumours from the very public Paramount/Cruise break up. If Cruise is really back in Paramount's good books, or at least good enough for them to let him star one of their biggest franchises, then we should at least expect a good action flick with a few twists and turns. The 3 films have grossed slightly over $1.4 billion worldwide.
